Joker 2: The Jokening

Imma try to keep this short and above water as possible but I have never watched the 1st Joker nor have I watched Joker: Folie à Deux also known as Joker 2 in my book. Why? You may ask have I never watched the cultural sensation that is “Joker” since it’s release in 2019? Well, there’s no Batman, but, there certainly is a lot of mental illness on display, and for me if youre going to make a movie about the Joker with no Batman youre just gonna have a movie about a crazy dude with no one to put him in check. Unstoppable force meets the immovable object you feel me? And if you take out the immovable object the Joker just kind of becomes his own enemy and given all the spoilers I was given my early impressions were kind of correct and in concept it’s a cool idea but most people are not ready. If you start exploring the background of a character like the Joker from beginning to end (especially with no Ace Chemical plant dump I might add) some fuck heads might start getting some ideas, or maybe not, who knows? I don’t know everything 🤷🏼‍♂️

But maybe someone realized maybe this isn’t a good idea you know, anddd, maybe they were right then Joker 2 happens and all the events from the first film more or less become undone… (but it’s too late the 1st movie already got made and Ill get into it when I do a real review). And again haven’t watched either one of these movies but I think I’d enjoy both and I’m probably going to start with Joker 2 first. Don’t think it deserves as much hate as it got because from what Ive gathered the movie says stuff about society (the 1st film anyway, literally) but I’m curious to see how Arthur’s journey reaches it’s conclusion as well as Joaquin Phoenix as the 2nd best Joker after Heath Ledger 🤷
