REDBULL FLUGTAG: CINCINNATI 2025

So yesterday me and DARKMAN_GLCTC(lol) went to the Redbull Flugtag hosted annually in Cincinnati, Ohio.

And it was pretty chill (all things considered). However, while the event began at 12 noon I didnt actually arrive to it until around 3PM due to some minor negligence on my part involving my car. But thankfully, I had the right mind to visit an auto place and get my issue squared away before leaving, which was around 11PM. And to the uninformed, the journey via automobile between my city of residence Youngstown, Ohio and Cincinnati is about a 4 hour drive. Easy day. In my realm long drives are a cake walk.

So I get there and parking was almost impossible but by God I managed to avoid paying parking fees which ranged between 7 to 20 dollars (at the highest) and found a free freshly opened parking spot nearly 2 blocks away from my destination. I noticed the sidewalks were pretty well even/smooth, so, I decided to take my longboard (which worked out pretty well for me). On the way I noticed large groups of people heading the opposite direction so out of concern I asked a group of 3, what I can best describe as young looking bros, each dressed in similar but different shirt/short combos if the event had ended? And I noticed they all seemed possibly intoxicated and a little sweaty and I know I’m a weird (but good looking 😏) dude so after taking in my visage one guy took it upon himself to answer for the trio and entering uncomfortably close into personal space told me the event was still going. They were very friendly and was I getting the vibe we could’ve talked some more and possibly networked, but alas, I was a man on a mission to watch people humorously launch themselves over a river while attempting flight via home built contraptions, so we parted ways and I pressed forward. The journey was tough (not really) but I navigated my way to a large crowd and lo and behold I had arrived.

And didnt take a lot of pics but the sight was absolutely astounding and almost immediately I was treated to a team about to take “flight”.

The announcer said there were about 10 teams left so, while I didn’t see the whole thing I still got most of the experience. And I have to mention how chill the whole thing was. Also, I’ve been to many public events but this was by far one of the best smelling (I’m being quite honest). And I’ve never been around so many good smelling people in public😦. I swear to God not one person I came across smelled like ass. And everyone there was just having a Good. Time. And from what I observed, there wasn’t any crazy shit outside of people trying to “fly” off a barge (but it’s all in good fun).

Also, the teams who participated before launching gave performances which either consisted of choreographed dancing or acting on some part (sometimes even acting out a scene from a movie). And there was a panel of about 4 judges.

I was pretty far from the action so I made it a task to get closer if you can tell, but thankfully seating wasnt an issue.

And after about 40 minutes the winners were finally crowned —

— and I just looked up that 1st place was about $15,000 so congrats to the Hillside Hustlers. it was very well deserved.

As I got ready to leave I noticed there was a merch spot, but they didn’t have anything I was really interested in but to my surprise, a cute woman offered me a free hat. So even though I didn’t participate in the Flugtag I walked away a winner.

IN CONCLUSION;

Considering I’d driven 4 hours I wanted to explore the city a little more and I settled for a hike (Y’all know I like hiking) at a local park. Its was pretty chill and I saw some deer.
