THINGS I’VE BEEN WATCHING LATELY (2/13/26)

(clickable links)

David (2025)- King David Begins. Putting my little homie on and educating him on the bible/torah/etc.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989)- Vibe/palette cleanse of an anime. I never watched it from beginning to end so I decided to check it out. Things to note the world was very innocent and as it is I’m a salty dog at this point when it comes to my anime viewing career so it was a welcome change of pace. To anyone who respects the art of animation Hayao Miyazaki and crew offers the Crème de la Crème of animated film experiences and Kiki’s Delivery Service is just one of those movies which will undoubtedly stand the test of time.

Note: Kiki was definitely a little tsun-tsun when it comes to boys so there’s that.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Jumanji (1995)- Putting my younger homie on. Peak Robin Williams

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Shogun Assassin (1980)- This was a very enjoyable watch. It’s got some wtf moments in it but I thought Tomisaburô Wakayama gave a phenomenal performance there was something about his wariness that just felt convincing of the urgency of his situation Every decision and every move was deliberate no energy was ever wasted. If there was an opponent that didn’t need to be fought he wouldn’t engage. He gave a very good impression of man who’s been to the edge and back. I could go deeper but I won’t.

NOTE: Discovered it was based off a manga

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Handmaiden (2016)- A Park Chan Wook joint. As it currently stands; The man does not miss.

NOTE: Forewarning to anyone considering giving it a watch there is a fair amount of nudity in it.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Road To Empress (Walkthrough)- A somewhat interactive historical FMV game/ TV Show based on the life of Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in Chinese history, set during the Tang Dynasty. Has very high production values.

Note: Cairen Wu Ain’t Nothin’ To F*** With👐

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Taxi Driver (1976)- Kinda makes you think.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

WKUK (Whitest Kids U’ Know)– I’m familiar but I hadn’t watched them in years but for some reason the show keeps popping up in my algorithm as well as some other stuff (Sumo videos ,and MXC reruns for instance) that I’m not watching which is likely a byproduct (I’d imagine) of someone spying on me but I clicked a video (Kanye Apology) a while back and shortly after they stopped appearing on my YouTube feed. 🤷‍♀️

Note: At the time of posting it’s back in my YouTube feed

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Romeo Is A Deadman (Walkthrough)- New sci-fi action game

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Tampa Never Sleeps– Fighting Game Tournaments

Frosty Faustings– Seasonal Fighting Game Tournaments

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Elephant– Very unique multi-dimensional animated short about life, purpose and identity.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Chained Soldier (S2) – Rated M for Mature and B for Booties. Welcome to the future. There is a lot of sexytime/DarkMan moments in this series. I have a lot of good things to say about this anime because it hits a lot of my personal checkboxes and I also read the manga. Animation quality is good so no issues.

But seriously if you watch it please don’t do it around kids.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Tekken 8 Content– New update coming soon looking forward to it.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Dragonball FighterZ Content– I’m finally dipping my feet in the water and trying to play but, this game is [insane]. I’d like to have at least 1 tag fighter under my belt so the journey continues.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

CastleSuperBeast– Videogame/pop culture news, etc. In the near-disant future I might give them some more money.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

VersusWolves– The guys shared takes on Shenmue and Absolute Batman. I’ve always been indifferent towards the Shenmue series and I might give my take on Absolute Batman in an upcoming podcast, however, I’m quite indifferent to it also.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Tolerian Community College– A Magic The Gathering Guru. Despite Yu-Gi-Oh being my card game of choice I’ve been checking out Magic The Gathering stuff on the side.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Fate/ Strange Fake– So far it’s been an enjoyable watch.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Ugly Americans– So I went back and rewatched this series back in December but forgot to post. Ended way too soon. Upon revisiting I learned Kurt Metzger voiced one of the main characters. [cue X-File music]

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Matteo Lane: Hairplugs & Heartache (2023)- My first real introduction to this guy and it was a very enjoyable watch.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Tome Segura: Teacher (2025)- SO, for a while as a fan I was kind of concerned about Tom Segura’s stand up career. He has his YouTube channel/ podcast YMH (Your Mom’s House) and 2 Bears 1 Cave which he hosts with his fellow comedian Bert Kreischer (both of which I haven’t watched in a while) and they’re pretty successful for the most part, but I noticed Tom Segura’s been making a lot of moves over the years outside of performing actual standup and it seemed he was getting away from it and getting “too comfortable” as I would say, and he kind of did a little but it’s a good special. I won’t lie but after watching it, I felt like he underdelivered a little bit, mind you while I’m kind of up “there” although my renown is confidential to the public and I do have a degree of influence in the world I’m not a professional comedian, maybe a clown (?) but I’m not a professional of that either so please bear with me I’m just offering my opinion. But yeah, it could have been a little better. But in his defense he’s kind of moved up in rank in the world as far as his professional career goes and much like Joe Rogan (who he’s much funnier than) there’s probably only so many places he’s willing to go comedically at this point without causing strife in the background of his life. I could go deeper but I won’t.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Shawn Ryan Show– Shawn Ryan’s been taking a lot of hits in the background of his life and he’s been very open about it. My take is that people are getting progressively smarter [and/or nosier] and there will be a time when any form of celebrity or governing authority position will require a certain degree of transparency in order to be efficient and some people just aren’t ready for the change.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Kurt Metzger– He’s funny but I can’t take him serious (Not that he wants to be taken serious I’d imagine). But I don’t think he knows what he’s talking about half the time but there are kernels of truth in what he says. Unfortunately, given the current state of affairs of our country’s political system (among other things) anyone offering any semblance of truth regardless of its source of origin is enough to warrant the attention from anyone looking for answers (myself included) but not all information is good information. With that said I still like the guy but preferably in small doses. Things to note [from me] the real truth is something we have to earn for ourselves.

NOTE: To anyone looking to make a real difference please try to take care of your mental health and if you’re able try to help out in your community.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

JRE– [Joe Rogan is the Unoism.net example of someone who got too greedy]
