Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)- I actually tried to watch this movie back in 2023 but couldn’t finish it but after revisiting and rewatching it to completion I’m glad to say it was very enjoyable and waaay better than Dungeon & Dragons (2000) . I’m down for another live action D&D of this quality (but preferably better) even if it follows a different story/crew.

Phantom Of The Paradise (1974)- MADVILLIANY. DARKMAN (Liam Neeson) type shit. This popped up in my algorithm so I checked it out and it was a pretty fun watch. The rock opera elements reminded me a little bit of The Rocky Horror Picture Show which I’m sure probably borrowed from this in some way and given the movies age I had an idea of what I was in for, but if I had any issue is that there was a very very very low budget special effect that immediately catches the eye when it’s on screen. If you’ve watched it, you’ll know.

Smokey And The Bandit (1977)- I don’t know why I waited so long to watch this. A verry fun movie. Was surprised to see that Paul Williams had a role in this film especially after previously watching Phantom Of The Paradise.

[And plotholes] But it’s not an issue just yet but there’s “things“, VERY OBVIOUS THINGS, that will need to be addressed eventually to maintain my viewership. Other than that, this shows an awesome love letter to all things Kamen Rider, also, the plan is very obvious that if you watch this show you’re expected to be informed and/or also possibly watching the live action series.

Daria- Since I’ve finished watching King Of The Hill I felt my animated media consumption lacking of real substance (lol) so to satiate the pangs of hunger that dwelled within my intellectual spirit (or whatever) I decided to give Daria a rewatch. Why? You may ask. Well mostly because the main cast of every American cartoon that comes out nowadays are all fucking insane and/or some form of psychopaths and while it is entertaining I needed a break. SO I started with season 5 and while I didn’t watch all of it I did finish the last movie. I have a lot of thoughts and apart from the wackier moments what I appreciated most was how this show challenges life’s problems with a level of maturity you don’t really see nowadays. In the last movie Daria’s graduation speech struck a chord with me and I’ll provide an excerpt from it:
“— However, given the unalterable fact that high school sucks, I’d like to add that if you are lucky enough to have a good friend and a family that cares, it doesn’t have to suck quite as much.
Otherwise, my advice is : stand firm for what you believe in, until and unless logic and experience prove you wrong. Remember : when the emperor looks naked, the emperor is naked. The truth and a lie are not “sort of the same thing” and there’s no aspect, no facet, no moment of life that can’t be improved with pizza.”

Baki Dou– I finished the manga version years ago but its been a very enjoyable watch. In the aftermath of the Baki Father & Son fight life’s gotten kind of dull for the main cast but thankfully Tokugawa decided to go mad scientist and resurrect a peak condtion (Baki universe) Miyamoto Musashi.
FOLKS, There is an art to everything, including violence and Baki The Grappler is just one of those series that just never ceases to disappoint me.

American Dad– American Dad’s finally back and it would seem this season they’ve made their return back to the FOX network. For anyone wondering why Family Guy’s not on this list, well it’s like this, Family Guy doesn’t have any dignity and whatever dignity it possessed in it’s past glory was given to American Dad and I could go deeper, but, maybe some other time.

One Piece Live Action (Season 2)- I only have about 3 gripes with this season:
SPOILERS (Im trying to figure out how to black out the text so bear with me)
1). They need to step up the Luffy fights.
If they fuck up the final Crocodile fight which seems to be on track for next season, I’m out lol.
2.) There was a very overly emotional Sanji scene that came from nowhere which could’ve been handled differently imo
3.) No Lapins? (I’ll save my other thoughts for my podcast or another blog post)
But other than that Season 2 is complete and this is still the best Live Action Show adaptation ever. On a side note I heard the actor who played Sanji went above the call of duty to prepare for a particular scene but I wasn’t sure which one so I might do some research.

Maximillian Dood- Max recently completed a very goated run of Resident Evil 4 Remake which featured him playing on the hardest difficulty with randomized items and enemies.

Tampa Never Sleeps – Fighting game tournaments. There was a recent Tekken 8 Tournament [which I’ll provide a link to if you click the image] that had a grand final Iron King vs King match that was very very edge of the seat.

Mikey Musumeci vs Keven Carrasco-The minute I clicked the video I knew where it was going. SO I’ve been kind of following Mikey Musumeci’s jujitsu career a little bit and the man is a champion. He’s good at what he does, but the fact remains he has ONE primary strategy he employs in every Jujitsu match and no one can beat him. And I’m happy for the guy and this is just my opinion as a (non-jujitsu expert) spectator person but the fact that no one’s come up with any type of counter strategy to this dude just befuddles me. But the fact remains he is a master at breaking legs and if it just so happens that he’s just that guy, it is what it is. I feel bad for everyone else but I wish him the best though.

Duncan Trussell Family Hour– Duncan Trussell (the comedian ) recently live streamed on YouTube and I popped in to see what was going on and even left some comments in the chat. Lot of rambling that evening but to his credit he operates on a different plane.

WWE– I checked in for a second to see what’s been going on and watched Randy Orton in Portland in top form as he had to lay the smacketh down on an all to eager for action Trick Williams who I’m actually happy to see’s been moved out of NXT, but still a few years to early to battle, “The Viper” . Aside from that, a clash of sorts looms in the horizons at this years Wrestlemania 42 between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
Well see how it goes.

GOKU’S STRONGEST ATTACK- Some may argue what Goku’s strongest attack is and for me it’s his compassion. What do I mean? Well, let’s observe the offering of a senzu bean to an opponent. MADNESS!? HE’S JUST DUMB!! some would argue, but no, for me it’s simply the strong taking pity for the weak and in that act what Goku is actually conveying is, “This is as far as you will ever get in this fight. My technique is beyond your understanding and you should just probably just surrender now because even if you get all your energy back (in this fight) you’re still not going to win.” But hey, I’m willing to give you a fresh start to turn your life around and help you to be a better person but if you eat this senzu bean and try to fight me anyway “Whatever happens happens.” GANG GANG.

Foxcade– Member of The CastleSuperBeast Zaibatsu. He made a video which caused a small stir among action videogame enthusiast and anime watchers alike in regards to the Devil May Cry Netflix series and Adi Shanker and, it was pretty on point. And for context I’m a Devil May Cry fan and while I’ve yet to fully go in depth on my thoughts about the Netflix show (give it time) I will say this show had to happen much in the same way the Dragonball Evolution (2009) movie had to happen. And if you know me Dragonball Evolution is a barometer of sorts that I use to compare adaptions by people who just don’t give a fuck about the source material, so, there ya go.
